Student Privacy Policy
In order to register as a participant of the SurfAid International Schools Program, sponsored by Billabong, students are required to provide their first and last names, school name, year and email address. This information will only be used to collect fundraising, prize distribution, and website login information.
Students will not receive any personal emails from SurfAid International. Students will receive administrative emails from SurfAid International containing their username and password in order to login to the website. They may also receive general group emails consisting of contest notifications, website updates, revised prize descriptions or other notifications to groups of students involved in the Program. SurfAid International will contact schools with prize information and shipping dates. Schools will be responsible for notifying students of prize awards and organising distribution of prizes to students.
We may disclose personal information collected from students as required by law, for example in response to a court order or subpoena. We also may disclose such information in response to a specific request from a law enforcement agency.
Except as set out above, we will not sell, rent or otherwise disclose any personal information to any company or person outside SurfAid International, without obtaining parental permission prior to such disclosure. We will not use personal information we collect from students for purposes other than those for which the information was collected.
Parents/Guardians
Upon request, you have the right to review any personal information we may have concerning you or your children. As a parent or guardian of a child from whom we have collected personal information, you have the right to review and have deleted such personal information, and to refuse to permit further collection or use of such information. To do so, you should contact the local SurfAid branch. Parents and guardians who wish to review personal information concerning their children will be required to specify the usernames and passwords of the children concerned, and to provide their own e-mail address for verification and contact purposes. Students’ email addresses will not be disclosed, except as required by law.
