Ten week teaching program for ages 9 – 11 years
Through a study of the Mentawai islands, their people and the work of SurfAid International, students will develop an understanding of their roles and responsibilities as global citizens and the interconnectedness between Australia and global environments.
- Focus: Human Society and its Environment, Science and Technology, English and Maths. It also incorporates some Creative and Performing Arts and Personal Health, Development and Physical Education (PD/H/PE) outcomes.
- Aligned to the NSW Board of Studies syllabus Stage 3 outcomes.
Five week teaching programs for ages 12 – 16 years
- Focus: Global Citizenship, Interconnectedness with Asia, Global Environments, Surfing Tourism and Social Actions
- Subjects: English, Maths, Science, Geography, PD/H/PE, Visual Art, Technology and Applied Science
- Each unit contains:
- Resource links and embedded ICT links.
- Activity guideline sheets
- Pro forma worksheets with visual resources
- Assessment tasks with marking guidelines
- Spelling lists
