The SurfAid International Schools Program, supported by Billabong, is an excellent way to get students involved and interested in a fascinating part of the world and some very important global issues.

The program provides an exciting learning opportunity and educates students about the people of the Mentawai Island region. It encourages the development of global citizenship and a sense of social responsibility along with an understanding of how we as individuals can make a difference in our world.

The program is designed to engage both teachers and students through online interaction by making all teaching materials and learning resources available for free on the website. We currently have a library of 10 comprehensive teaching programs, eight of which are accredited by the New South Wales Department of Education (NSW DET). We also offer a 20 minute DVD and supplementary teaching unit funded by Global Education, New Zealand. These programs can be completed over the course of 5 weeks or taken apart and used for one day teaching and learning activities.

At this time the Schools Program is available to teachers in Australia, New Zealand, and the US; however, this program will soon be available in Europe.
